Internet in Albania
Albania's cities and coast, including Tirana, Durrës, Vlorë, Sarandë and Ksamil, have good 4G coverage. In the mountains, such as Theth and Valbona, and on mountain roads there can be no signal for long stretches.
Albania isn't in the EU. EU roaming doesn't apply there, so an EU mobile plan charges data at its operator's roaming rates. On a day trip from Corfu to Sarandë, or if you continue to Greece, note that EU roaming applies in Greece but stops once you reach Albania.
Good to know before you go to Albania
- Before hiking in Theth and Valbona, download maps and your route.
- On a day trip between Corfu and Sarandë, switch SkyeSIM on when you reach Albania.
- Turn off data roaming on your home SIM so it doesn't run up a bill. Calls and texts still reach you.
