Most phones released since 2018 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later, and most recent Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models. Check your device settings under Cellular/Mobile → Add eSIM to confirm.

Can I keep using my regular number?

Yes. Your physical SIM stays active for calls and texts on your home number. SkyeSIM only handles mobile data, so nothing changes about how people reach you.

Does the package include calls and SMS?

Our plans cover mobile data only. Calls and texts continue to run on your regular SIM as usual, so you're not charged roaming for data while abroad.

How do I avoid roaming charges?

To avoid unexpected data charges, choose SkyeSIM for mobile data in your phone's settings and turn off data roaming on your regular SIM. That way your phone won't use data through your home operator by accident. Calls and texts may still be charged separately.

When will I receive my eSIM?

Your eSIM is delivered instantly via email right after your purchase is confirmed. You'll receive a QR code and activation instructions within minutes. There's no shipping or waiting — you can activate your eSIM immediately, even minutes before your flight.

What do I do if my eSIM QR code doesn't work?

If your QR code isn't scanning, try these steps: ensure your device camera has good lighting, keep the QR code flat and steady, or manually enter the activation code provided in your confirmation email. If it still doesn't work, write to us at info@skyesim.ee.

Do I have to activate data roaming on my device?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for your eSIM to work abroad you need to enable data roaming in your device settings. Go to Settings → Mobile/Cellular → Data Roaming and switch it on. This is standard for all eSIM providers and will use your SkyeSIM plan rather than your home carrier's roaming charges.

When should I install the eSIM?

It's easiest to install the eSIM before your trip, while you have Wi-Fi. That way everything is ready and you don't have to deal with it when you arrive. Check your plan's terms before installing, because plans can start at different times.

How long does installation take?

Scanning the QR code and installing your eSIM takes about two minutes. We recommend doing it over Wi-Fi before you travel, though it works over mobile data too.

Can I install my eSIM with one tap?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on an iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later and on recent Android phones. Open your order page or the eSIM email on the phone you're travelling with and tap "Install": your phone opens its eSIM setup with everything filled in. On other phones, scan the QR code instead.

Why does my phone show another operator's name during installation?

Our eSIMs come from network partners, so during installation your phone may show the partner's name, for example Orange France, instead of SkyeSIM. That's normal: at your destination the eSIM connects to a local network, such as Tele2 in Estonia. When your phone asks you to name the new plan, call it for example "SkyeSIM".

Can I top up my eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Not at the moment. When your data or days run out, buy a new plan for the same destination on our website. It comes as a new eSIM, which you install the same way.

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Cards (such as Visa and Mastercard) and, where your device supports them, Apple Pay and Google Pay. You pay in euros on the secure payment page of our payment provider Stripe. Your eSIM is sent right after the payment is confirmed.

Question 15

Can I get a refund if I don't use my data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you haven't installed the eSIM, you get a full refund for up to 30 days after purchase. After installing it you can still withdraw within 14 days: we refund the price minus the part of the plan you have used. Use "Withdraw from contract" at the bottom of the page or write to info@skyesim.ee. Details are in our terms.
