Internet in Georgia
Georgia's biggest mobile operators are Magti, Silknet and Cellfie. Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi have good 4G coverage. In the mountains, such as Kazbegi and Svaneti, the signal can be weak or missing.
Georgia isn't in the EU. EU roaming doesn't apply there, so an EU mobile plan charges data at its operator's roaming rates.
Good to know before you go to Georgia
- Bolt works in Tbilisi and Batumi: you need data to order a ride.
- Before a mountain hike, download maps in advance.
- Turn off data roaming on your home SIM so it doesn't run up a bill. Calls and texts still reach you.
